Sell Your Scrapyard Stock Online: Free Listings for Yards and Spares Dealers

Every yard has the same problem sitting on its shelves. The car was bought, stripped and racked months ago. The money went out the day it arrived, and now a perfectly good gearbox, a straight fender, a tested alternator sit there earning nothing, waiting for the one customer who happens to walk in or already knows to phone. Meanwhile, somewhere in the country, someone is searching online for exactly that part right now. They just have no way of knowing it's on your shelf.

That's the gap Kasi Spares closes. We're a parts-only marketplace and part-finder for South Africa: the people who come here aren't browsing used cars or scrolling general classifieds. They arrived searching for a specific part, usually with the make, model and year already typed in. Your stock in front of that buyer is a different proposition from your stock in front of everyone and no one on a general platform.

What listing actually involves

Less than you'd expect, deliberately.

Send us your current stock list as a spreadsheet, any format you already keep it in, however rough. We bulk-import it and your listings go live the same day. No signup forms, no waiting period, no approval queue dragging on for a week.

Photos are optional. If you have them, good: parts with photos sell faster. If you don't, text-only listings go up now and photos can follow whenever you get to them. We'd rather have your stock visible today than perfect next month.

Buyers contact you directly on WhatsApp. Every listing carries a WhatsApp button that opens a chat straight to your number. No message relay through us, no login for the buyer, no login for you.

What it costs: the honest version

Listing is free. No signup fee, no subscription, no minimum term. When a buyer finds your part on the site and WhatsApps you, that sale is yours. We take no fee and no commission on it. Not a percentage, not a listing charge later, nothing. You keep 100%.

So where do we make money? One place only: our part-finder service. When a buyer submits a specific part request through us and we do the work of sourcing it, phoning around, checking condition, arranging the deal, we may add a brokerage fee or markup on that specific transaction. That fee is agreed with you at the time, on that deal, out in the open. It is never deducted from your own listings, because there's nothing to deduct it from: your own listings don't pass through us at all.

That's the whole model. If it sounds simple, that's because it is: your direct sales cost you nothing, and you only ever share margin on business we brought you and brokered ourselves.

This adds to what you already do. It doesn't replace it

Keep your Facebook page. Keep your Gumtree ads, your AutoTrader listings, your walk-in trade, your regulars who phone. There's no exclusivity in the agreement. You can list the same stock everywhere at once, and you should. Kasi Spares is one more channel pointed at a better-targeted audience, at a price of zero. When a part sells somewhere else first, tell us on WhatsApp and we take the listing down. That's the entire admin burden.

And there's no lock-in. Either side can end the arrangement at any time, for any reason, effective immediately, just by saying so in writing. If it isn't earning you anything, walking away costs you one WhatsApp message.

One more thing worth saying plainly: you remain the seller. The condition, warranty and terms of any part you sell stay between you and your buyer, the same as over your own counter. We're a listings and brokerage platform, not a party to your sale, and listing here doesn't add liability you don't already carry.

How it works

1. WhatsApp us that you want to list, and send your stock list: spreadsheet, any format. 2. We bulk-import it. Your listings are live the same day, marked as a registered business/yard. 3. Buyers WhatsApp you directly. You quote, you sell, you keep everything. 4. Separately, when our part-finder gets a request matching your stock, we contact you, agree the deal and the fee on that transaction, and bring you a sale you'd never have seen. 5. A part sells elsewhere? Message us and it comes down. Want to stop entirely? Say so and it's done.

Start with one spreadsheet

The stock is already paid for. The buyers are already searching. The only thing between the two is a listing, and the listing is free. WhatsApp us your stock list and it's live today.

Questions yard owners ask us

What's the catch?

There isn't one, and here's the model so you can check for yourself: listings are free and we take nothing on sales from them. Buyers WhatsApp you directly and the deal is yours. We only earn on our part-finder service, when we source a part for a buyer and broker that specific deal, a fee agreed with you at the time, on that transaction only. If we never broker a deal for you, you never pay us anything.

Do you take a cut of my sales?

Not on your own listings, ever. No commission, no percentage, no fee that appears later. The only money that ever changes hands is on part-finder deals we source and broker ourselves, and that fee is agreed with you upfront on each deal, never deducted from anything automatically.

Do I need photos?

No. Send your stock list and we'll put listings live with text descriptions. Photos can follow whenever you get to them. Parts with photos do sell faster, so it's worth adding them over time, but missing photos should never be the reason your stock isn't visible today.

Can I still sell on Facebook, Gumtree and to walk-ins?

Yes. There's no exclusivity in the agreement. List the same stock everywhere at once; this is an additional free channel, not a replacement for anything that already works for you. Your walk-in trade, your regulars and your other platforms carry on exactly as before.

What if a part I listed sells somewhere else first?

Just WhatsApp us and we take the listing down, that's it. Nobody expects a working yard to sync stock in real time, and there's no penalty for a listing going stale. A quick message when something sells keeps your listings trustworthy, which is in your interest as much as ours.

Who's responsible if a buyer has a problem with a part?

You remain the seller. Condition, warranty and sale terms stay between you and your buyer, exactly as they do over your own counter. We're a listings and brokerage platform, not a party to the sale. On deals we broker through the part-finder, we help sort out problems directly with the buyer first, because our name is on the introduction.

How do I stop if I change my mind?

Tell us in writing, a WhatsApp message is fine, and it's done, effective immediately. No notice period, no minimum term, no exit conditions. Your listings come down and that's the end of it. The arrangement only continues for as long as it's actually earning you something.

How long before my stock is live?

Same day. Send your stock list as a spreadsheet in whatever format you already keep, however rough, and we bulk-import it. There's no signup process, no approval queue and no waiting period; the slowest step is usually just you finding the spreadsheet.
